This is the second song from my bisaya rap album Latigohon Ka Sa Kalingaw. In this song, I featured 3 of my fellow call center colleagues, Shaun Roy, Jan Samuel and Eleanor. The lyrics is in Bisaya or Cebuano. If you can't understand it, you might want to let someone who speaks the dialect translate it for you.
We really had fun recording this song. Shots of Red Horse beer were consumed before we went to the studio. I think it's fitting and proper cause this is all about drinking. haha
Song Summary in English:
This song is all about the Filipino "Tagay System". Tagay is a way of drinking where the shot is passed around from one person to the other instead of the usual one bottle for each person. When a person doesn't drink the shot, we would then tell that person "Gilumot na ang tagay". This can be directly translated as sea moss is already seen growing in the glass because it is stagnant. That's figurative though. The point is that if you're about to go on a drinking session, make sure you're well conditioned for drinking. Aside from that, you shouldn't talk too much as you might forget about your turn to drink. I gave an example there in the second verse where a college chick forgets to drink because she keeps on talking about her recent breakup with her bf.
